Cathleen R. Smith joined the firm in 1995 and became a partner in January 2005. Her practice involves the national representation of developers of planned communities, including vacation resorts, condominium developments, vacation ownership and timeshare regimes, fractional interest developments, membership clubs, golf course communities, and residential and commercial developments. She also practices in the areas of community association law, trade practice law and general corporate law. Cathleen has spoken at continuing education seminars for attorneys and has authored and edited a number of books for The Harrison Company on a variety of legal topics. She is an active member of the Georgia Chapter of Community Associations Institute, where she has served on various committees.
Cathleen was born in Stuart, Florida. She received a B.A. degree in Journalism in 1985 from Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana. She received a M.A. degree in Journalism/Marketing in 1987 from The University of Georgia and her law degree in 1993 from Georgia State University. Cathleen has been a member of the State Bar of Georgia and the State Bar of Florida since 1993. She is admitted to the Georgia Court of Appeals and the Florida Supreme Court.
