Richard J. Capriola is a partner in the firm’s commercial litigation practice and has extensive experience litigating commercial, business, franchise, fraud and construction litigation claims.  Rich has more than 15 years of litigation experience and regularly practices before state and federal courts at both the trial and appellate levels.  His commercial practice includes contract disputes, fiduciary duty claims, shareholder disputes, financing and loan disputes, disputes regarding the development and sale of real and commercial property, the marketing, sale and telemarketing of products and services, defense of consumer protection claims, franchise disputes and the resolution of state and federal regulatory issues.  His construction practice includes claims involving construction defect, professional negligence, property damage and lost revenue claims.

Rich earned his B.A. in Political Science from Union College in 1989 and his J.D., Cum Laude, from Emory University School of Law in 1992 where he was a member of the Order of the Coif.  Rich is admitted in Georgia, District of Columbia and New York.  Rich is admitted to practice in all Georgia State and Superior Courts, the Georgia Court of Appeals, the Georgia Supreme Court, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia (Federal Court), the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals (Federal Court) and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals (Federal Court).
